Remington Employee Union Endorses Tenney for NY-22

Tenney Stands Up for Remington Workers & Second Amendment

Ilion, NY – On Tuesday night, the United Mine Workers Association, Local 717, the union representing Remington Arms employees at the Ilion, New York factory endorsed Claudia Tenney, Republican candidate for Congress in New York’s 22nd Congressional District.

UMWA 717 representative Ross Klein said: “The local 717 and the United Mine Workers of America are pleased to endorse Claudia Tenney in her race for Congress. She has always been a friend to and an advocate for Remington Arms. She is and always has been a staunch defender of the Second Amendment. Claudia is the clear choice for Congress for gun owners, producers and enthusiasts in New York’s 22nd Congressional District.”

Claudia Tenney said: “As the oldest continuously operating firearms maker in the country, the Ilion Remington Arms plant is part of American history and woven into the fabric of this community. I have worked hard to defend Remington and its workers and will not stop now. It has been an honor to work with and earn the support and trust of its employees and its union, UMWA 717, over many years. I will continue to fight to see Remington survive and come away stronger.”

Tenney is a steadfast ally of the UMWA 717 and Remington Arms — fighting to keep good-paying jobs in Herkimer County. She has defended the Second Amendment, the company, and its hard-working employees throughout her career and is deeply grateful for their support.
