BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Southern Tier Tea Party is hosting an open forum with Congresswoman Claudia Tenney this weekend.
The forum, which is being billed as a Welcome Back Event for Tenney, takes place Sunday afternoon at the Holiday Inn Binghamton.
It’s open to anyone who registers in advance.
The Southern Tier Tea Party advocates on behalf of the following core values: limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets.
The group largely supported Tenney in her Congressional bid last year.
Coordinator Mark Cuda says this is an opportunity for conservatives to take stock in how she’s doing so far.
“We feel confident and we feel assured that what she said she was going to do is exactly what she’s doing right now. But, sometimes when you read various comments from other people, they don’t necessarily feel that way. So, this is a time where, if they really want to address the issues firsthand, and ask the questions, or present the concern, this is the time to do it,” said Cuda.
Cuda stresses that the forum is open to people of all political persuasions.
Attendees must register in advance and bring ID to the event.
Cost is $5 to cover expenses.
You can send a message through the Facebook page at Southern Tier Tea Party and Cuda will reply with a registration number.
There will be security at the event and attendees are asked to be civil and respectful.
The forum runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn Binghamton.
Doors open at 2 p.m.
