NEW HARTFORD – Last year, it was Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer who helped recruit Anthony Brindisi to run for Congress.  With Schumer saying that he wants to impeach President Trump we now know why he needs Brindisi in Congress.

As the Washington Free Beacon reports:

  • “Sen. Chuck Schumer (D., N. Y.) told a Brooklyn crowd Monday he wanted to impeach President Donald Trump, and ‘the sooner, the better.’ Flanked by security and staff holding signs saying ‘MEET SENATOR CHUCK SCHUMER,’ Schumer stopped to speak via megaphone with several people off-camera. In a video of the interaction released Monday, Schumer was asked about impeachment and expressed support for the idea: MAN (off camera): ‘When y’all gonna impeach Trump?’ SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER: ‘Sooner the better.’” (The Washington Free Beacon, 09/04/18)

“Chuck Schumer doesn’t always recruit individuals to run for Congress, but when he does he picks politicians like Anthony Brindisi who have stood with corrupt Governor Andrew Cuomo and convicted felon Sheldon Silver,” said Claudia Tenney campaign manager Raychel Renna. “Just like he did in Albany, Brindisi will take his marching orders from Schumer and Pelosi to impeach Donald Trump, which is a stark contrast to Claudia Tenney who is working with President Trump to fight corruption, repeal ObamaCare and bring good jobs back to Upstate New York.”

BACKGROUND …

Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer recruited Anthony Brindisi to run for Congress so he could rubberstamp his agenda of impeaching President Trump.  “U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, who doesn’t recruit House Democratic candidates, made a rare exception by encouraging Anthony Brindisi to run for Congress in Upstate New York.  Schumer, D-N.Y., the Senate minority leader, pushed Brindisi to run over the past year during multiple conversations in person and on the phone, according to Schumerand a campaign aide to Brindisi. … ‘I strongly encouraged him to run because he is a warrior for working people, his heart is in the right place and his experience is second to none,’ Schumer said. ‘He is full of energy and ideas; he genuinely cares about people, and he does what’s right for his community every step of the way. Anthony Brindisi is going to be a great congressman.’” (Syracuse Post-Standard, 06/29/17)

Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer has told his colleagues to stand up against President Trump.  “Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer slapped a searing label on the Republican party Thursday, saying that if his colleagues across the aisle remain silent on the ‘culture of corruption’ surrounding President Donald Trump, the GOP as a whole would be a ‘co-conspirator’ with the president.” (Roll Call, 08/23/18)
